Never shot a gun before?  Don’t think you are ready to take the class for your handgun carry permit? No need to worry with our new Handgun Safety course and our First Shoot course.  These courses have been designed to be taken before you take your handgun class or if you are looking for a refresher.  These course will make you more aware and proficient for the handgun carry class.

And with all our courses we will teach group, organization and all women classes as needs arise.
For more information or to attend a class, contact Wallace Browning, listed at the bottom of this page.

Gun Safety Class

All of our instructors are certified to teach the NRA Gun Safety program.  We are happy to arrange for an instructor for your church group, Scout group, 4-H club, and pretty much any other group you can put together.
This is typically about a 4-hour class.

Handgun Carry Permit

Our Handgun Instructors are certified by the State of Tennessee to teach the Handgun Carry Permit class that is required to get a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit.  This is an 8-hour class mandated by the State.
You will need to bring:
A handgun, holster, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, and a driver's license.
Plan to bring a lunch or you can go out locally during lunch break.
Cost of the class is $65.

The application process for Handgun Carry Permit HAS CHANGED!!  Per Butch Browning, the Drivers License Service Centers no longer process the applicants.  It is now done online.  There will be a computer at the TSF class to start the application process, which generates a needed application number, but if you can complete the online application BEFORE
the class, it will be a tremendous TIME SAVER.

Defensive Handgun Class

We are proud to offer an advanced handgun class that will teach you everything we would like to include in the Handgun Carry Permit class but don’t have time for.  You will spend most of the 8-hour class on the range learning how to draw your handgun from your holster, shoot strong hand only, weak hand only, while moving, around barricades, and more.  You will need to bring a handgun, holster, minimum of 3 magazines for your handgun, approximately 200 rounds of ammunition, and eye and ear protection.

This will be a movement, defensive type class with lots of shooting and drills they can learn to give them the confidence they need for any situation.

Cost:  $150

Refuse To Be A Victim

Improve your personal safety strategies with NRA's Refuse To Be A Victim® Program.  Experts agree that the single most important step toward ensuring your personal safety is making the decision to refuse to be a victim. That means that you must have an overall personal safety strategy in place before you need it.

Through a four-hour seminar (shorter presentations are available) called Refuse To Be A Victim®, you can learn the personal safety tips and techniques you need to avoid dangerous situations and avoid becoming a victim.

Hundreds of federal, state, and local law enforcement officials across the country have implemented Refuse To Be A Victim® into their crime prevention and community policing initiatives.

Here are just a few of the topics presented in the Refuse To Be A Victim® seminar:

Personal Security
Automobile Security
