New TWRA Hunter Education Course
Tennessee Sports Foundation is proud to offer another TWRA Hunter Education Course at the TSF Clubhouse classroom. The course will be taught by Instructor Danny R. Kizer.
If you were born on or after January 1, 1969 you must possess proof of successful completion of a hunter education class before hunting in Tennessee.
The Hunter Education Course class will meet on four nights, and all students/participants must attend all four nights. The course will run from 6-9 PM on each night: Aug. 24, 27, 31, and Sept. 3. These are Monday and Thursday evenings. There are only 40 seats allowed for the class, so register as soon as possible to get your seat.
The TSF course is free of charge, and you must be nine years of age or older in order to become a certified hunter education graduate. Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certificate, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device. Parents are encouraged to go through the course with their child. Parents who participate and who pass the test will receive hunter education certification. Many states require hunter education certification regardless of age. Parents that do not wish to become certified, typically find the class is both informative and enjoyable.
You may visit the Tennessee Hunter Education Program page of the TWRA website at http://www.state.tn.us/twra/huntered.html for information on the course requirements and outline. You may pay and take an online course if you want, but the TSF in-classroom course is free.
You must preregister to take this course. On the above linked TWRA HunterEd page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the button "Find a class." Then, in the Hunter Education Classroom Course section, click on the right-hand button "View upcoming events." Scroll to the page (page 6) with the Aug. 24th starting date for the class at Tennessee Sports Foundation, click on the "View Event" button, and then the green "Register Now" button.
OR.....If all of that navigation was confusing, just use the shortcut link provided to go directly to the course View Event page by clicking here. Then click on the green "Register Now" button to sign up for this class.
If you have any questions on this course, you may phone Mr. Kizer at (731) 616-1840.
